Trusted Chimney Sweep, Air Duct & Dryer Vent Cleaning in Redditch

I often get enquiries from people saying their stove hasn’t been swept for 18 months, 2 years, 5 years or more, is it safe to use? Simple answer is I haven’t got a clue. How much do you use it? What wood do you burn? Do you burn pallets, wet timber, any old junk? Do you slumber the stove overnight? I could go on. I have some customers that only produce a small handful of soot in a year whereas the photo below shows another customers’ annual sweeping (note the ash pan in the bottom of the stove is overflowing). The only way to know is to sweep it, record the amount and then do the same the following year. I do this for my customers and can then advise if annual sweeping is suitable for their use. Please note that most home insurance providers require stoves to be swept annually so my advise is get it swept regularly by a professional chimney sweep, keep it working efficiently and avoid invalidating your home insurance.
