The installation of a large single storey kitchen lounge extension helped to transform what was originally a two bedroom semi-detached property into a three bedroom home. The existing layout consisted of an entrance that lead directly into the hallway with two bedrooms immediately found on either side, one of which featured its own en suite bathroom. The lounge/diner and kitchen were both positioned at the rear of the property. With a large new lounge and kitchen built to extend the property further into the garden, the existing lounge/dining area was transformed into a study, with an additional cupboard space created immediately outside to help close off the room from the hallway. Across the hallway the old kitchen was adapted into an additional bedroom with the entrance to the room also re-positioned. The new lounge and kitchen areas were built to include patio doors in each space to provide natural light and an entrance to the garden, with additional access created from the kitchen to the side of the property. Alterations were also made to the garage, with a side-door added close to the entrance and a window installed along the same wall.
