They inspected their oil tank and noticed that it had become cracked and was leaking home heating oil. They had just had a fill of oil so there was approximately 900L inside the oil tank. The combination of the warm weather, large fill and age of the oil tank were al contributing factors to it cracking. SSS Alleviate arrived at the property soon after being instructed. Upon arriving at the property, we could see that the homeowner had done a great job containing the oil with soap. We immediately got to work transferring the contents of the tank to a temporary oil tank. Our oil transfer pump made light work of over 900L of home heating oil and we had it safely secured in no time. The temporary oil tank was connected to the boiler using temporary oil line, ensuring that the customer still had heat for the duration of his oil tank replacement works. Once the oil had been secured, SSS Alleviate checked the soils to see whether any oil spill clean up was required. Fortunately on this occasion, the homeowners containment works and our fast response prevent any significant damage from the home heating oil.
