FAQs

Does my roof need a 50mm ventilation gap?

This is true when using other, non-breathable products, and is a traditional requirement. However, because of our foams open cell construction which allows the roof to breath, we have full BBA approval for the direct application with no ventilation gap needed.

What project can spray foam be used in?

Spray foam can be used in almost every construction project. From residential new builds, renovations, old barn conversions, attic conversions and retro fits to commercial and industrial applications, the list is almost endless! A good rule of thumb is if it can be insulated traditionally, then we can insulate it!

Will building control pass my project if I use spray foam?

Yes! We have BBA approval for any application we install. The BBA are the approval and certification body in the UK which test and accredit almost every building product. As well as the BBA certificate, we also provide U-Value calculations and a condensation risk analysis to satisfy any building control questions.

Do you offer a guarantee?

Yes. We supply a 25-year Icynene backed guarantee, which means if ScotFoam ever cease trading (hopefully not!) your guarantee will still be backed by the largest spray foam manufacturer in the world.
