NEW POPs REGULATIONS All of our recycling facilities including the Reading Recycling Facility in Hampshire have had to change the change the way we receive, store and process Waste Upholstered Domestic Seating (WUDS) containing Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) this month to reflect changes in legislation. The guidance states that products such as sofas, sofa beds, armchairs, kitchen and dining room chairs, office chairs, bean bags etc, (including any part made of or containing leather, synthetic leather, other fabric or foam), can no longer be recycled or accepted at landfill and must be destroyed through incineration. Whether you are looking for skip hire in Reading and surrounding areas, Man & Van services in Berkshire or tipping directly at our Reading recycling facility we’re pleased to confirm that we are still able to receive and process such waste compliantly through incineration at a partner site. However, we have had to introduce and a small additional fee to cover the processing costs through incineration.
