Are your garden rooms warm enough to use in winter?

You can specify electric panel heaters or oil filled radiators or even air conditioning to heat as well as cool in the summer months. And our garden rooms are typically specified with double glazing and are insulated with 50mm PIR board (Celotex or similar brand) although you can specify thicker insulation depending on your budget.

How well insulated are your garden rooms?

That all depends on the specification a build 2.5 m or lower would use a cold roof design and a taller building would have a warm roof design. Virtually all builds built under permitted development 2.5m roof height would have a cold roof due to height restrictions.

How thick should the insulation in your garden room be?

This is largely dictated to by your budget, as thicker is always going to provide you with better insulation. For garden rooms insulated using rigid foam boards (PIR), we recommend your insulation should be a minimum of 50mm although you can specify up to 120mm. A general rule of thumb is your using mineral wool insulation, the thickness should be double that of PIR.
