Girnaig: Modest ExtensionnnHere are some very early illustrations of our design for a modest, but much needed, extension to a 1980’s nbungalow that we’re currently getting ready to build - creating a new master bedroom, en-suite showerroom and walk in wardrobe.nnThe ground conditions require a conventional foundation but we have mitigated this, as far as we can, by working out a way to minimise its size and therefore its concrete content, along with using concrete blocks made from recycled aggregate.nnThe floor, wall and roof panels will be constructed off-site in our new workshop and will contain natural wood fibre insulation throughout.
