How do you charge?

We believe in being transparent with our clients regarding our fee structuring. After many years experience in the industry working for ourselves and for others, we have learned that the fairest method is to charge a fixed fee based on our time input after understanding the scope of the project, rather than using an open-ended hourly rate. Each fee proposal is written specifically for each project after a we have discussed every aspect of the project in our free consultation. There is no obligation to hire us.

What is included in your planning application submissions?

Every planning application is different, but, in short, we include everything that is required for the application that we are qualified to provide. Typically this will include all drawings, design statements and application forms, however, some projects require the input of specialists such as tree surveyors, ecological surveyors, engineers, listed building experts or planning consultants. We assist you on identifying suitable consultants, raising quotations and organising their appointment.

What is included in your architecture technical pack?

We provide design drawings including general arrangement plans and elevations, demolition drawings, lighting and electrical plans, indicative drainage layouts, building regulations drawings and any technical details necessary to adequately explain the scheme to the builder.

Can you help to choose items for my home?

Yes, as part of our design service we offer sourcing and procurement for finishes, fittings and furniture (fitted and loose) as well as home accessories. We have a great knowledge of where to source items and a keen eye for styling.

Do you have tradespeople & consultants to recommend?

From our many years working in the industry, we can recommend excellent tradespeople, from builders to plumbers, electricians, joiners, landscape designers, and also quantity surveyors, structural surveyors and even project management companies for projects on the larger side. Our recommendations are always made on our judgement of their professionalism and work quality and is based on the last time we worked with each.

Nick got to explore Damson Farm, a Bath smallholding with big ideas for one of his recent Bath Life magazine features. Taking a sunny afternoon stroll with owner and horticulturist, Alison Jenkins, he took in the delights of her edible garden, home to a wealth of plants that not only provide food for Alison’s family but also look beautiful too: with the likes of self-seeded verbascum and forget-me-nots mingling happily with marigolds, rocket and alpine strawberries. Nick also got a look at the equally diverse forest garden, with amelanchier rising above sorrel and natural, organic hedging blending seamlessly into the landscape beyond.
