TRADITIONAL STYLE OAK STAIR CLADDING WITH MATCHING VARIED WIDTH BOARDS AND A FEATURE HERRINGBONE PARQUET, EAST DULWICH SE22 We skillfully crafted a traditional oak staircase in a large Victorian terrace in East Dulwich. We showcased a stunning herringbone parquet floor in the large double reception room. We featured random width oak boards in a matching colour for the rest of the ground floor. The installation project included the staircase, hallway, double reception room, and the kitchen extension. The staircase was expertly strengthened, levelled and cladded in oak and a new custom handrail was expertly crafted especially for this project. The original staircase required meticulous levelling to make sure there was consistent height and depth in the stairs. We used 240mm wide boards that were 20mm thick in premier grade for the stair cladding. We removed the existing newel post, handrail and spindles, replacing them with new ones but maintaining a classic style.The herringbone parquet flooring brings a special elegance to the ground floor. We installed 15mm thick 70x280mm parquet blocks with a bevelled edge and finished with clear oil. The design was simple and borderless, allowing the full parquet pattern to be enjoyed from edge to edge.
