Down on the farm: nnExciting things are happening on the farm. It has dried up enough for us to get our trial strips in!nnAnd we are getting all our ducks in a line for our Countryside Stewardship Schemes (CSS) and our Sustainable Farming Incentive schemes (SFI) we have been working with the amazing Zoe Bell who has helped us on our way in what to me is a confusing new landscape. nnBasically we should start to see the recognition of the work that we have been putting into the farm for the last few years. 90% of the work that makes us qualify for the CSS and SFI payments we are already doing on the farm (all the farming with nature stuff) but soon we will get paid for all the incredible work we are doing to get the farm back to the good old days. nnAs you will see from the map of the farm there is a lot of work going into it. It will be a hive of activity in a few years. nnThis will leave us with c280 acres of efficient blocks to farm and produce food. We have sown our trial strips in on of the fields (see image). One direction the crops have been drilled and the adjacent direction we have added inputs that we are trialling. We are comparing these areas against conventional farming too.
