Project of the Month: The Mews Cottage Garden – Colour throughout the year From spring flowering colour to height and re-purposed stone features, I remained mindful that colour was needed throughout the year yet with little sunshine and light. From the summer through to the autumn, I added ferns and ground-cover plants, planted adjacent to the steps which lead to an array of flower beds. Foxgloves, roses and an array of geraniums were incorporated too. With a strong focus on successional planting, the clients are delighted that there is always colour and interest with blooms throughout the year. They learnt all about each plant and, having gained confidence from my planting guides, they have since planted even more additions for added colour and vigour all year round.
