We do not claim to be boiler repair people but in the past 24 hours we have got 2 neighbours heating up and running. The fault code may be different depending on your boiler but on a Worcester boiler it is 229. Basically this code means there is no gas getting to the appliance and if you have a gas cooker then that won’t be working either. The main culprit is the regulator on top of the gas meter, it is usually grey and shaped like a flying saucer. It has frozen shut! So warm it with a kettle of hot (not boiling water) and if you have a digital meter follow the instructions on the screen. Then turn off power to the boiler and then turn it back on. It is important that you keep the meter cupboard door closed and insulate the grey regulator. 2nd cause is a frozen condensation pipe, most pipes now go into internal plumbing but many still go outside. This will be a copper pipe which is curled downwards, pour hot water in it and boiler will restart however it may take a few attempts because condensation will have backed up inside the boiler.
