This is what I think is an interesting insight to what is inside a wasp nest! The multiple layers of the outside covering are made from repeated 'mouth fulls' of wood, stripped from various sources. They then bring these repeated mouth fulls of wood matter back to the nest to make the external construction. The varied source of wood material is why the nest was a wavey appearance, different sources of wood! For more information, see my blog about wasps.
