Hi everyone. In these strange times you can still do something positive and help the environment. With spring and summer on the doorstep there will be many queen bumble bees out and about making their nests. You may have already seen some flying around your garden.nnSometimes bumble bees will make nests in people's lofts, and while we always advise that they will not damage the property or cause harm, some people find it difficult to live with them. Because we are dedicated to lowering our environmental impact here at Greenway, we worked out a way to remove these nests and relocate them so that the nests were still viable and could still make new queen bees for next year.nnWe trialled this service last year and it worked, but we need more homes for these bees. That's where you come in! If you would like to offer up a bit of your outside space to house these bees then go to www.greenwayipm.co.uk/gbbs.html. nnWe will prioritise larger gardens and allotment spaces, as these will make better homes for bees but anyone is free to sign up. With social distancing we would need you to leave us access through a side gate or some other means so nobody has to be in your house.nnThe bee nests come in a box that will be fixed to your garden wall/fence free of charge and then removed again once the nests reproductive cycle is complete and next year's queens have flown the nest, protecting the population and biodiversity of these key pollinating insects.nnIf you would like to be a part of the Great British Bee Swap then follow the link, fill in the form and sign up.
