This was a piece of timber i had to remove from an internal frame for a bathroom enlargement. The home owner chose to use another local construction company to move the wall instead of letting me do everything. The joiner in question knew the internal walls were being boarded and skimmed, but still thought it was appropriate to install it. There’s a 20mm bend from the top to the middle, and another 10mm bend from the middle to the bottom. The noggin he installed was far too long and exagerated the problem. Zero effort was made to ensure it was plum, even though this upright formed the reveal back into the existing wall. There was never a chance that the plasterer would be able to make the wall square. Clueless cowboy is an understatement. The same guy even installed a piece of skirting board on the bedroom side of the wall that was like an arch which lead to the honeowners complaining and the construction company owners attending the property to rectify the issue. Moral of the story - good tradesmen are expensive, and busy, for a reason. Trust them to use the right materials and not cut corners.
