Our MD, Bobby Nagpal is honoured to part of a Q&A with Rt Hon Grant Shapps, Secretary of State for Transport.     Did you know Grant has pilot experience? He's also a data-geek and tech-fan; using big-data and technology within his ministerial role.  Grant is an avid reader, and is known to have a new book in his hands almost every week.  He comes from a business background, establishing a successful printing company (which continues to operate today). Another interesting fact is that our Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, offered him the role of Health Secretary, which Grant turned down, favouring Sec. of Transport instead! One thing which doesn't come across during journalistic debates is that he has a very positive, happy, persona. During the Q&A he spoke about his plans for the UK to be a leading country in satellite space technology.  His goal is also for the UK to be the largest economy in Europe by 2050.  He talked about his railway policy, HS2, Crossrail, and his £27.4bn road-building budget (more than any of his predecessors).   Grant also touched upon his feasibility plan to create a tunnel connection between England and Northern Ireland (much like the Channel Tunnel connects the UK and France).    Unsurprisingly he is not a big fan of Sajid Khan and his plans to expand the Congestion Charge zone.  Finally he outlined a new Global Travel Task-force which he is setting up to assist the aviation sector to get back on track once the pandemic is under control.
