Shortly before Christmas, in one of the most westerly parts of the mainland (Kilchoan), the team set to work on this cottage. This was a busy project, but an important one in restoring and repairing the roof of this beautiful home in this beautiful place. We used Marley Edgemere tiles, but with the exposed location it was important to us that these tiles be anchored as well as can be. Each individual tile is secured with nails and with solo-fix clip, ensuring this roof is as secure as can be. We'll be finishing the roof with a dry ridge and verge system, with the verge yet to be fitted. Unlike most new builds, there's no fascia on the gable ends, so some block work needs to be done before we complete.
