Why does my chimney need to be swept?

To stop any build up of soot, tar or other types of debris that could lead to a restriction in the flow of smoke out of your property. A restriction in flow could lead to dangerous gases, like carbon monoxide, smoke and other fumes entering your home.

When should I get my chimney swept?

We work throughout the year and welcome calls at any time through the year but we suggest you book for spring or summer, we are less busy and you lessen the chances of a soot fall in winter.

Is it illegal to remove a birds nest?

There are strict rules about the removal of birds nests, as a repsonbile firm Acorn Chimney Sweeping Services are aware and we will only ever remove a nest where it is legal to do so.

Can you repoint a chimney?

Absolutely, we have repointed many chimney stacks over the years and some images can be seen below, if you have signs of damage around a chimney it is important to get the issue dealt with as quickly as possible
