A chimney fire just waiting to happen. Not getting your flues swept regularly, especially if your semi detached or in a flat can add risk to yourself and others. This flue was in a first floor flat which hadn’t been swept for years. Large amounts of soot increases the risk of a chimney fire plus a risk of soot back into the room during a sweep. It’s recommended to get your flue swept at least once a year and certified to have full cover on your house insurance in an event of a claim.
