Question: my fire is smoking back into the room when I have just lit it. Why is this happening? Answer: Providing the chimney has been swept and the Baffle plate is checked and cleared of soot and debris, it is most likely to be a cold flue. Cold air coming down the chimney will be forcing the smoke out of the fire and back in the room. Please pre heat the flue before lighting a fire by using a rolled up newspaper or a fire lighter which will warm the flue up and get the smoke to draw up the chimney 🔥...
