Expert Carpet Cleaners in Bridgend

Part 2 of "Getting Your Garden Furniture Ready for Summer" 5. Metal Furniture For metal furniture, a mixture of dish soap and warm water usually does the trick. Use a soft brush to remove rust spots gently. For stubborn rust, use a paste of baking soda and water. Rinse well and dry completely to prevent new rust from forming. Apply a rust-resistant primer or paint if needed. 6. Plastic Furniture Plastic furniture is durable but can get discolored. Clean it with a mixture of 1 cup of baking soda to a gallon of warm water. Use a soft brush to scrub the surface. For tough stains, a solution of 1 part bleach to 10 parts water can be used, but rinse thoroughly afterward to remove all bleach residue. 7. Fabric Cushions and Umbrellas Remove fabric covers if possible and wash according to the care instructions. For non-removable fabric, mix 1 part dish soap, 1 part Borax, and 1 gallon of warm water. Use a spray bottle to apply the solution and scrub with a soft brush. Rinse with a hose and let it dry completely before use. 8. Wicker Furniture Wicker furniture can trap dirt in its crevices. Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove loose dirt. Then, mix a solution of 1/4 cup of ammonia in a gallon of water and use a soft brush to clean the wicker. Rinse with a hose and let it dry in a shaded area to prevent the wicker from becoming brittle.
