The William Morris legacy has continued in people's homes for years and will continue to do so for many more. This regency home on the island was no exception. Paul Walden Interiors had the privilege of restoring a master bedroom incorporating all of Paul's skills as a master tradesman. The restoration required stripping back everything in the room, from double layers of old wallpaper, plastering and fine filling the crumbling walls and ceiling, painstakingly sanding the delicate woodwork by hand and fine filling to make good again, making good the very damaged fireplace wall, cross lining the walls and lining the ceiling before finally painting and then installing the beautiful Morris Seaweed wallpaper by Morris & Co in the colourway of Cobalt/Thyme. Authentic reproduction from a document in the Morris Archive by J.H. Dearle in 1901. A free flowing and sinuous pattern which captures the underwater movement of plants and demonstrates elements of the Art Nouveau.
