- Utility/Boot room – Pretty much every reconfiguration project we’ve worked on has had a utility room/laundry room on the wishlist. And this project was no exception. - This particular room has to work extremely hard. It provides access from from the garage at the front of the house to the garden at the back. It needs to store coats and shoes for a family of five, provide a home for the family’s dog and be the laundry room. - The original architect’s plans had a long thin corridor which provided the access needed but wasn’t practical for doing all those other jobs. We widened the corridor to accommodate three separate pods. One for laundry, one for storage and the other for Casper, the dog. - We then ran the same colour scheme from the kitchen/diner into the utility but with brighter versions of the colours to create a fun space. And installed a bright yellow wipe clean covering to the main wall of the corridor, making it easy to keep clean and adding vibrancy. - If you need help adding or creating a utility room to your home, do get in touch.
