- Kitchen –nThis sociable kitchen is from the same open plan living spaces we shared in our last post. At the beginning of the project there was a pillar in the middle of the island which really impacted the sociability of the space and how the kitchen interacted with the rest of the space.n-nAfter discussions with the structural engineer and builder we were able to leave a pillar between the dining and seating areas, keeping the kitchen nice and open and allowing it to be a hero within the space.n-nWe agreed on a marine, yellow and blue colour pallette running throughout the space and went for the more unusual marine colour for the kitchen, allowing it to be a bit different from what you see in many homes these days.
