We were instructed to produce land registry drawings for HMS Forward in Newhaven. It was a shore based establishment of the British Royal Navy during World War II based at South Heighton, just outside Newhaven, East Sussex with a network of pitch dark tunnels 30m below ground. The site has its issues in that a lot of the tunnels had partially collapsed in places, it was pitch black, and had Cadnium in existence. Our team relished the opportunity to get stuck in and our 3D laser scanners made light work of accurately capturing the entire network in a matter of a couple of days.
