Front Garden Build, Hornsey, North London, N8 Acacia Gardens recently completed a front garden build in Hornsey, North London, N8. We worked with Garden Designer Emma Appleby on the £30k landscaping project. As part of the remit, Acacia Gardens undertook the garden construction work. The main elements of the project included: Building a Front Garden Wall: We built a wall using soft red brick to coordinate with the house. In contrast, blue engineering bricks were used at the base, on top of the wall and again for the piers. In addition, we rebuilt a low retaining wall to the left of the garden. Front Garden Steps and Landing: We created a sandstone landing with steps leading to the garden path. Bullnose edging was used to create a tidy appearance, while Yorkshire Stone in natural colour is used for the steps. Drainage was added to ensure the dispersal of rainwater. Clay Paver Path Installation: The front garden path led to the doorsteps and continued to the bin area. We installed grey-tone clay pavers, which we arranged in a running bond pattern with Kinley metal edging. The clay pavers were laid on a porous base that allows for water drainage. Front Garden Soft Landscaping: We dug the soil and removed stones and roots before adding fertiliser and manure. We planted a selection of shrubs, herbaceous perennials and a hedge.
