The equal pay act had not come into force and women of my generation did not really expect to have fulfilling careers as business leaders back then. Thank goodness attitudes have changed! These days it is relatively rare to come across patronising and misogynistic attitudes in business and when it does happen, post-#MeToo we have a far more direct route to challenge.
