Another failed valley which a couple of other people hadn't been able to locate the problem. This was quick to find as I could see temporary sealant had been painted on covering a historical leak. This had now failed and started leaking again. On removal my suspicions were correct. The lead strips had been cut too large. When the lead expands and contracts in different weathers this can then crack. Just like this one and the 4 cracks discovered. Old stripped out. New code 5 lead installed, maximum 1.5m lengths. Slates replaced. Ridges bedded back on. It was scorching up on that roof! But so pleased the customer is happy now and the roof is all sorted before the rain kicks back in!
