Frequently Asked Questions If you’re looking to have some work done on your roof, you probably have some questions. We’re always happy to chat through your ideas and answer any questions in person or over the phone, but we thought it would be useful to put together some of the more frequently asked questions (and their answers). IF MY ROOF IS LEAKING, DO I NEED TO GET IT REPLACED? Not necessarily. Many roof leaks are the result of a loose or broken roof tile, which means we can fix it fairly easily without needing to replace the whole roof. The only reason we would need to do a complete roof re-fit is if the whole system has failed, or if the roof was very unsafe – and we would always talk to you about that before doing anything. WILL I HAVE TO MOVE OUR IF MY ROOF IS BEING REPAIRED? You can usually stay in your home while your roof is being repaired, and we will make every effort to ensure the area is safe and waterproof during the work. There are some occasions, like if the roof is very structurally unsafe when we would need you to move out – but that’s very rare. CAN I JET WASH MY ROOF? You can, but it’s really not recommended. High-powered jet washers can actually cause damage to your roof tiles, stripping away the protective layers and knocking slates loose.
