Woodland management of an estate in Greenwich, south east london. Crown Tree Surgeons had the privilege of being appointed to re establish an old woodland walk for hospital patients to access. The work took four days to carry out with a number of pre checks for habitat / nesting birds / planning applications and a tree survey. The first phase of the work was to make a number of over hanging trees within the target area of the walk safe; this was then followed by clearing a many years of overgrown vegetation to reestablish the path, this was carried out by eight tree surgeons from grounds person to tree climbers, using the modern arboriculture equipment from tracked wood chippers to mini steers, tracked flail and a tracked hydraulic platform to remove unsafe trees. All green waste was left on site - logs stacked for habitat and wood chip used create a wood chip walk way.
