SSS Alleviate were contacted by a homeowner in Dromore who wanted her heating oil tank replaced. The existing oil tank at the property was in poor condition and the homeowner wanted to proactive in reducing the risk of an oil spill at the property. After deciding on a 1000L Bunded Oil tank, our team got to work. We pumped out any water/sludge from the bottom of the oil tank. The clean heating oil was transferred to a temporary oil tank and reconnected to the boiler to ensure heat at the property. The old oil tank was removed for disposal and the base was broken out. A frame was constructed for the new tank base with 3000mm clearance on all sides. Concrete was poured and the base was allowed to harden. We also installed a new oil supply pipe underground between the oil tank and boiler, with a remote acting fire valve for safety purposes. Once the new tank was delivered, it was installed on the tank base and connected to the tank and boiler. Once the oil tank was ready, we transferred the oil from the temporary oil tank. The digital watchman was installed, so the homeowner could keep an eye on the oil levels from the comfort of their home without having to dip the tank. Finally, we cleaned down the work area and tested the heating system which successfully fired. If you have noticed an urgent issue with your oil tank such as bulging or a cracking, we urge you to contact us immediately or visit our page on oil leak response.
