FAQs

Is Viking Plumbing and Heating Gas Safe registered?

Yes. Viking Plumbing is registered with Gas Safe to carry out work on gas pipe work, boilers, cookers and water heaters. Customers can be satisfied that all gas work will be carried out to the highest quality and safety specifications.

Is Viking Plumbing and Heating Insured?

Yes. Viking Plumbing is registered with Gas Safe to carry out work on gas pipe work, boilers, cookers and water heaters. Customers can be satisfied that all gas work will be carried out to the highest quality and safety specifications.

Does Viking Plumbing and Heating make a mess?

No. When undertaking work, Viking Plumbing and Heating takes extra care to ensure that homes are protected when work is undertaken and left as found when it is finished. During longer jobs the house will be tidied at the end of every day and all tools taken home.

I have a leaking tap in the bathroom what should I do?

The most important thing is to call a plumber and isolate the leak. On a Viking Plumbing and Heating installation all sanitary ware will have isolation valves on it. If you can see where the leak is it can be stopped by turning the valves. Failing that it might be necessary to turn the main stop cock off (typically either under the floor by the front door, or in the cupboard under the kitchen sink). This will turn the cold water in the house off. On a system that does not have a combination boiler it may be necessary to drain the hot water tank to stop the flow of water. Once the cold water is off, run a hot tap away from the bathroom (e.g: kitchen sink). Leave the water off until a plumber arrives.

I am getting headaches when the gas fire has been on, what is causing this?

Firstly, switch off all gas appliances and see a doctor immediately. Open doors and windows and ventilate the property. This could be carbon monoxide poisoning which is potentially fatal. Do not attempt to turn the appliances back on until they have been inspected by a Gas Safe registered gas installer.

More detailed information is available on the FAQ page of our website.
